Metal Stamping

Metal StampingWe have the capability to stamp different sheet materials in various thickness, including stainless steel, copper, and aluminum.

What is Metal Stamping?

Metal Stamping is a process that use dies to transform flat metal sheets into shapes.

Metal stamping machines cast, punch, cut and shape metal sheets. To create three-dimensional shapes, a flat sheet of metal is inserted into a die and then a mechanical press is activated to create the object. Sheets of up to 1/4 inch thickness are molded into specified shapes and sizes. Aluminum, copper, zinc and stainless steel are some of the metals used by companies offering metal stamping.

The presses used for metal stamping can create quite a wide range of products and they can perform a series of operations including blanking, metal coining and four slide forming. Blanking (also called fine blanking) is usually the first die in a series of dies that leads to one completed part. Four slide forming incorporates a variety of stamping and forming processes to create more complex products and it is particularly effective for smaller parts.
